White, George V. (8 Dec. 1926 - 17 Feb. 2009)

George V. White, 82, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph's Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Wesley United Methodist Church. Military honors will be conducted at the church immediately following the funeral.

Interment will be in the Loyal Cemetery at a later date.

Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Hansen-Schilling Funeral Home, Marshfield where a Masonic Ritual will be held at 7 p.m. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to service time at the church on Saturday.

George V. White, 82, of Marshfield, Wisconsin, died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2009, in the Palliative Care Unit of Saint Joseph's Hospital, in the company of family and under the loving care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at the Wesley United Methodist Church. The Rev Ruth Egerer and the Rev Kenneth Dix will be officiating. Mr. White's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post 54, immediately following the funeral.

Interment will be in the Loyal Cemetery at a later date.

He was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Loyal, the son of Herbert and Marion (Albright) White. He graduated from Loyal High School. George served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

George was united in marriage to the former Ellen E. Pscheidt on Feb. 21, 1948, in Neillsville.

He was employed at Weyerhaeuser first as a sheet metal worker, later as fire and security supervisor and retired as a materials buyer for the company.

In addition to being a loving husband, father and grandfather, George was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also loved spending time in his woodworking shop.

George was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church and the Marshfield Masonic Lodge 224. He also volunteered his time with Habitat for Humanity and was a volunteer driver for the Shriners.

He is lovingly survived by his wife, Ellen White, Marshfield; children, Thomas (Marcella Allen) White, Dell City, Okla., Anna (Kenneth) Olm, Marshfield, Philip (Cheryl) White, Spencer and Joseph (Jennifer) White, Lake City, Minn.

Twelve grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and one sister, Janice (Harold) Herdrich, Ashland, Ore., further survive George.

One great granddaughter; sisters, Elna Sutter, Arlene Cathey and Eunita Shiro; and one infant brother preceded George in death.

A memorial will be established in Mr. White's name at a later date.

The family would like to thank the staff of Ministry Home Care Hospice for the loving care and attention Mr. White received.
