Miss Kathryn Navarre, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Navarre of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), chose a white marquisette gown trimmed with nylon lace, for her wedding with Lavern Haas, son of Mr. and Mrs. Casper Haas of Thorp, which took place at St. Mary’s Church at Czestochowa (Junction, Clark Co.) on Wednesday, June 7th, 1950 at 9:00 a.m. She wore a silk illusion veil and carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley, sweet peas and a white orchid. Rev. Jerome Kamla performed the ceremony.
The bride was attended by Loretta Haas, attired in lavender marquisette and Miss Ann Patricia Wagner, as maid of honor, wore blue marquisette. Other bridesmaids were Alvera Haas and Dorothy Butterfield, who wore dresses of Nile green and yellow marquisette.
Casper Haas Jr., was best man for his brother, and Richard Navarre and Kenneth Butterfield served as ushers.
The groom was attired in a grey suit.
Little Mary Sue Pilarski, flower girl, attired in white, carried a basket of mixed flowers and Robert Pilarski was ring bearer.
A reception was held after the ceremony at the American Legion Hall in Thorp.
Out of town guests were: Mrs. Wm. O’Meara and son Larry, Ann Patricia Wagner and Mary Swierczynski, of Chicago; Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Pilarski and children, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Pilarski and children, Mrs. Jake Poe and daughter, and Alvera Haas, of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Butterfield and family of Wausau, and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hull of California.
