Castner, Daniel (17 May 1872 - 14 December 1950)

Funeral services for Daniel Castner, 77, of Loyal were held on Saturday at 2 p.m. from the funeral home in Loyal. Burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery. He died on Wednesday, December 14, at his home in Loyal.

Mr. Castner was born May 17, 1873, in the Town of Loyal. He was married to Dollie Milligan December 31, 1896, at Loyal. She died March 30, 1936. In June 1937, he married Florance Whitney at Loyal. She survives.

He engaged in farming around Loyal until his retirement in 1935. He came from one of the pioneer families of Clark County. His grandfather was Daniel Mack, one of the first white settlers in the region.

Mr. Castner served as an assessor of the Town of Loyal, was a member of the school board of the Lyon School, attended a dairy school at the University of Wisconsin and was at one time a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge in Neillsville.

Surviving are four children: Mrs. Bernard (Edna) Fischer of Medford; Mrs. Chester (Alice) Berg of Marshfield; Mrs. Reginald (Inez) Behrens of Marshfield; Cisude of Marshfield; five brothers and sisters, and five grandchildren.
