Winterer, Hannah #2 (5 FEB 1874 - 25 SEP 1950)

Hannah Winterer passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ingvald Ondal, Stanley, wis., on Monday morning, Sept. 25th, 1950 at ten o’clock, following an illness of five and one-half years. She had reached the age of 76 years, 7 months and 20 days.

Hannah Kraemer was born Feb. 5, 1874, in the township of Clifton, Grant Co., Wis., to William and Mary Kraemer. Her girlhood was spent in Grant Co. Feb. 26, 1896, she was married to Frank Winterer at Livingston, Wis. Her husband preceded her in death 10 years ago.

The Winterers lived in Hillsboro for several years, where Bernard and Maude were born (Bernard died at the age of 29). Then they moved to Bloom City, where Salome was born. They lived at Bloom City about six years, after which they moved to Livingston, where Mr. Winterers worked in the mines. In 1914 the family moved to Butlerville settlement (Clark Co., Wis.) south of Thorp, where they farmed until Mr. Winterers’ death in 1940. Since that time Mrs. Winterer has lived with her daughter and her family, Mr. and Mrs. Ingvald Ondal at Stanley.

She is survived by her two daughters, Maude (Mrs. Everett Mick) of Spencer, Wis., and Salome (Mrs. Ingvald Ondal) of Stanley, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Mrs. James Drinkwater, and Mrs. Mae Knutson of Livingston, one brother, John Kraemer of Hillsboro.

Funeral services were held at the Plombon Funeral Parlors at two o’clock Thursday afternoon, the Rev. Lelan Shaws officiating, assisted by Garnet Smith. She was laid to rest in the Butler Cemetery.

The pallbearers were: Chris Horgen, William Mayenschien, Loran Bivans, Arthur Sayles, Ernest Halterman, and Oscar Ramberg.
