Guenther, Anna (25 June 1879 - 19 Mar. 1961)

Mrs. Anna Guenther, a former Colby resident, died Sunday noon in a Wausau hospital at the age of 81 years, a heart attack being the cause of her death. Funeral services were held Wednesday morning at the Colby Methodist church, Rev. David A. Passet officiating, and internment was made in the Lutheran cemetery in Sheboygan. Pall bearers were Richard Guenther, Paul Guenther, Harold Guenther, Tom Forbish, Eugene Forbish and Bill Panyto.

The former Anna Gaue was born in Sheboygan on June 25, 1879. She married Henry Guenther on March 21, 1905, at Webster, S.D. The couple lived in Sheboygan until 1912 when they moved to the town of Hull and engaged in farming. Mr. Guenther died on November 27, 1914.

Surviving are two sons, Melvin Guenther of Stratford and Harold Guenther of Merrill, and two daughters, Mrs. Gordon Forbish of Colby and Miss Erma Guenther of Wisconsin Rapids.

Also preceding her in death were a son, Henry, and a foster son, Leroy Brown, who was killed in October, 1944 in the Pacific operation during World War II.
