Baxter, Harry Mrs. (? - 15 Aug. 1940)

Funeral services for Mrs. Harry Baxter, former resident here, who died Thursday, Aug. 15, were held Sunday afternoon at the Presbyterian church at Weyauwega. Internment followed there.

Mrs. Baxter was well known in Abbotsford, as she and her husband operated the Arcade restaurant in the place now occupied by Henry Dallmann.

Mr. and Mrs. Baxter came from Weyauwega and operated a farm two miles east of Abbotsford, after coming to Abbotsford and purchasing the Arcade café. After Mr. Baxter’s death in February, 1935, she operated the café alone until May, 1937, when she sold it and left for Weyauwega, where she made her home with a sister for some time.

At the time of her death, Mrs. Baxter operated a small rooming house.

Ill with embolism, she was taken to St. Elizabeth’s hospital at Appleton on Aug. 8, where she died a week later.
