Charles John Alger, age 58, of Shell Lake peacefully went home with his Lord on Friday, February 13, 2009, at Indianhead Medical Center in Shell Lake.

He was born August 11, 1950, in Thorp, WI, to Cyril and Martha (Kobylarczyk) Alger. Chuck graduated from Thorp High School in 1968. Chuck worked in construction and mason work until Thanksgiving 1991 when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Through all the medical trials over the years, Chuck never let it affect his positive outlook on life. Chuck was a member of Lake Park Alliance Church where he enjoyed worshipping with his family.
