Remus, George Edward (15 January 1863 - 19 June 1950)

George Edward Remus, 82, of 140 North Emery Street died at his home on Monday.

The body mill (will) lie in state at the Georgas Funeral home until 10 o’clock Thursday, when it will be taken to the Evangelical and Reformed Church. There services will be conducted at two o’clock, Rev. Benjamin Stucki will officiate. Burial will be made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Remus was born January 15, 1863, to Frederick and Louise Remus. He had been a resident of Clark County for 54 years. He received his education in Dane County and worked as a farm hand there. Later he came to Clark County.

On March 11, 1896, he was married to Emilia Lenzkow. They farmed in Levis for 21 years; then moved to the city, where they lived for 33 years.

Mr. Remus was a member of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church.

He is survived by his wife; one half-brother, Erwin Remus of Marshall; one half-sister, Ida Sparks of Huron, S.D.; two step-sisters; Mrs. Martha White, Marshall, and Mrs. Lena Lewke, Columbus; one stepbrother, Hugo Lenz of Greenwood.

One brother, Richard, and a half-brother, Fred Remus, preceded him in death.
