Piwoni, Valeria (12 FEB 1887 - 31 JAN 1951)

Mrs. Valeria Piwoni, who resided on a farm near Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) for 45 years, passed away at her home on Wednesday evening, Jan. 31st, 1951, of a stroke which she suffered several months ago. Mrs. Piwoni (nee Valeria Florkowski) was born at Kewaunee, Wis., on Feb. 12th, 1887. She came to Thorp with her parents at an early age, and she spent her entire life here.

Valeria was united in marriage to Steve Piwoni at Thorp in 1905 and they settled on a farm near Thorp. Her husband preceded her in death 14 years ago.

She is survived by three children, Harry of Curtiss, Frank and Mrs. Florence Pietraszewicz at home. Two brothers and sister, Michael of Unity, Peter of Thorp and Mary, Mrs. E. Johnson of Black River Falls. Step-mother, Mrs. B. Obricki of Thorp and five half sisters, (Helen) Mrs. Rudolph Fillo, (Jeanette) Mrs, Dick Mack of Thorp; (Emily) Mrs. Frank Ligenz of Stanley; Antonette and Margaret of Chicago; three half brothers, John of Franksville, Tony of Chicago and Edward of Thorp.

Funeral services were held at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church at Lublin on Saturday, Feb. 3 with interment in the Lublin Cemetery. Rev. Konopka officiated at the services.

Pallbearers were: Jos. E. Piwoni, Leonard Dombrowski, John Wnek, Felix H. Zukowski, Jos. T. Piwoni and Malen Juzwiak.
