Bushnell, Virginia (7 MAY 1924 - 7 FEB 2009)

Virginia Bushnell, 84, Lodi, died on Saturday, Feb 7, 2009, at the Lodi Good Samaritan Center, after a long illness. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 11, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Lodi. The Rev. Francisco Higuera officiated.

Virginia Bertz was born on May 7, 1924, in Loyal, to Ruenen and Cecelia (nee O’Reilly) Bertz. She married Clarence Bushnell on June 8, 1946. Together they owned and operated Bushnell’s Jewelry since 1952.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence; two sons, Michael (Roseland) Bushnell, and Bruce (fiancée Janet Wipperfurth) Bushnell; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Joan) Bertz; five sisters, Marilyn Bogdonovich, Joann (Max) Hayden, Donna Gruber, Darlene Ottoway, and Colleen Kraeger (Don Anderson).

Preceding her in death were two brothers, William Bertz and David Bertz, and two sisters, Rosemary Sanford and Deanna Will.
