Schlinsog, Evelyn F. #3 (21 JAN 1921 - 12 FEB 2009)

Evelyn F. Schlinsog, 88, Marshfield, formerly of Granton, died on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at the Golden Living Center—Three Oaks, Marshfield. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 20, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt, until time of services at 11 a.m. The Rev. Dean Pingel will officiate. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Granton, at a later date.

Evelyn Florence Schuette was born on Jan. 21, 1921, in Unity, to Hugo and Hulda (Ihlenfeld) Schuette. She attended school in Loyal and graduated from Colby High School. She then moved to Neillsville and worked as a secretary at Svetlik Motors and AAA in the county office. On Sept. 1, 1945, she married Paul G. Schlinsog at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Unity, Wis. After their marriage, they farmed in Granton until retiring in 1982. After retiring, they continued to live on the farm. Her husband died on Feb. 24, 1996 and in 1999 she moved to Marshfield in the Wells Nature View CBRE, S he lived there for seven years and then moved into the Three Oaks Nursing Home in May 2006. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Granton, until moving to Marshfield when she became a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hewitt. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, sewing and crocheting.

Survivors include her son, Darwin (Judy) Schlinsog, Hewitt; a granddaughter, Amy Jo (Dustin Kuhlka), Oshkosh; two step-granddaughters, Tammy (Tom) Hardinger, Marshfield, and Tracy (Brad) Smith, Denver, Colo.; six step-great-grandchildren, Luke, Katie, Sam, Will and Jake Hardinger and Jonah Smith; two brothers, Orville (Catherine) Schuette, Curtiss, and Merlin (Florence) Schuette, Marshfield; a sister, Lydia Montgomery, Marshfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband; her parents; a sister, Ethel Gerber; two brothers-in-law, Francis Gerber and Allen Montgomery; a niece, Janice Schuette; and a nephew, Jim Schuette.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church Debt Fund, 7735 Yellowstone Drive, Hewitt, WI 54441.

The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, is assisting the family with arrangements.
