The Women’s Society of Christian Service will sponsor a bake sale Friday, April 9, in the Hill furniture store beginning at 3 p.m. The committee includes Mrs. Glen Drew, Mrs. Elery Moberg and Mrs. Effie Swieso.

Mrs. Gary Hunt and children, Christopher and Julie, returned to Brown Deer after spending from Wednesday until Saturday with the Susa families. Mrs. James Susa and Mrs. John Susa, Jr., accompanied them to Brown Deer.

Mrs. Johanna Horvat of Greenwood, who has resided since January at Memorial Home in Neillsville, fractured her hip in a fall Saturday and is expected to be a patient at Memorial Hospital for six weeks. Her children, Mrs. Mary Klune and Mr. and Mrs. Rudy Horvat visited her at the hospital Saturday.

The Rev. David Logue conducted the confirmation examination and the rite of confirmation Sunday at Zion United Church of Christ. Confirmands were John Lust, son for Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Lust, and Ray Novobielski, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Novobielski. They were presented Bibles from the adult fellowship. The church choir sang a special selection accompanied on the organ by Mrs. Allen Dallman.

Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Severson, Mrs. Martha Corbin and Miss Louise Keiner visited in Pittsville Friday at the home of their sister, Mrs. Frederick Gotz. Mrs. Corbin then returned to her home in Milwaukee after spending a week here, called by the death of her mother, Mrs. Christ Keiner.

Mrs. Maude Volk of Wisconsin Dells visited Tuesday at the Ralph Landini home and attended the funeral of Mrs. Christ Keiner.

Mr and Mrs. Bernard Novobielski entertained Sunday in honor of the confirmation of their son, Raymond. Dinner guests were Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Novobielski, Jr., of Milwaukee, the Fred Timmler family, the Irving Timmler family, the Tom Lindner family, the Harold Horn family and Mrs. Elvera Fravert and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Truman Hill, Mrs. Helen Behrens and Julius Hoehne spent Wednesday in Minneapolis, where they attended the Sports Show and Ice Follies.

Miss Catherine Braun of Eau Claire spent Sunday with her aunt, Miss Ivy Moore and they visited at the home of Mrs. Bertha Dallman and family Sunday afternoon.
