Johnson, Roy S. (30 APR 1883 - 7 NOV 1951)

Funeral services for Roy S. Johnson of Stanley were held Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church at Stanley. The Rev. John Mason and Rev. J. N. Midtlien officiated and burial was made in Oakland Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson died last Wednesday at the Victory Memorial Hospital at Stanley following a lingering illness.

He was born in Eidsvold (Clark Co., Wis.), April 30, 1883, and was graduated from the Stanley High School in 1901. He attended the Bradley Polytechnic Institute in Peoria, Ill., and operated jewelry stores in Sullivan, Ill., Stanley, Wis. and Tolley, N.D.

On Dec. 12, 1911 he married Clara Larson of Tolley, and they moved to Stanley in 1916, where they had since resided. Mr. Johnson operated a tire shop there until 1930.
