Rittenhouse, William, Mr./Mrs. (50th - 5 MAR 1949)

Mr. and Mrs. William Rittenhouse, former residents of Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), now living at 2797 Pioneer Drive, Salem, Ore., celebrated their golden wedding anniversary March 5, 1949.

They held open house Saturday afternoon and evening and Sunday afternoon for friends.

Many gifts and flowers were received.

Mr. and Mrs. Rittenhouse were married March 5, 1899, in Ontario, Wis. They moved to Withee in 1914 and lived there for 30 years, and moved to Salem, Oregon five years ago.

There are nine children in their family, four sons and five daughters, as follows: Mrs. Anthony (Fannie) Guadnala of Los Angeles; (Freda) Mrs. Ernest Columbus of Salem, Ore.; (Beatrice) Mrs. Albert Berchem of Santa Ana, Calif.; Maurice Rittenhouse of Salem Ore.; (Vera) Mrs. Wilmer Gilman of Salem, Ore.; John D. Rittenhouse, Owen; (Audrey) Mrs. John Orlando of St. Paul, Minn.; Earl Rittenhouse, Salem, Ore.; Wesley Rittenhouse, Salem, Ore. There are also 12 grandchildren in the family group.

Mrs. Rittenhouse has been very ill the past year and she would like to hear from her friends.

Mr. Rittenhouse caught a nice mess of German Brown Trout out of the hole in less than an hour and a half recently. There were two twenty inch, two eighteen inch, two sixteen and two fourteen inch, one twelve inch and one granddaddy of them all, a twenty eight inch fish that weighed about ten pounds.
