A pioneer resident of this community, Mrs. Wm. Haas, 67 years of age, was laid to rest yesterday afternoon when final rites were conducted at two o’clock from the Methodist Church at Withee. The Reverends Irish of Thorp and Myron Glick, Owen, officiated. She was place in her final resting place in Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers at the service were: Stephen Quist, A. R. Martin, wm. Veurink, Jess Capes, Art Meier and Fred Johnson. Flower girls were: Mrs. Kenneth Mathewson, Mrs. S. E. Grimes, Mrs. Ted Buchanan and Mrs. Walter Hansen.

The deceased was born on June 15, 1881, at Linden, Wis. Most of her life was spent and enjoyed in this community (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) until recently when she was confined to the hospital at Marshfield for medical attention. It was there on Sunday morning, April 3, 1949, that the Lord took her home, death coming quietly and peacefully.

Mrs. Haas was well known, and well liked by a large circle of friends. Always pleasant and genial she was obliging to everyone and friendly in her relationship to all.

Surviving are her husband, a son Lyle, and a daughter, Mrs. Clarence Strokirch, all of Owen.
