Pfeiffer, Mary Jane (23 APR 1949)

White snapdragons decorated Blessed Sacrament rectory the morning of April 23, 1949 when Miss Mary Jane Pfeiffer, daughter of Mrs. N. E. Pfeiffer, 121 N. Allen St., became the bride of Kenneth B. Clifton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd E. Clifton, 533 Miller Ave., formerly of Owen (Clark Co., Wis.).

The Rev. John B. Schneider read the ceremony at 9 a.m.

The bride chose a cocoa brown gabardine suit with green gabardine accessories and a natural straw hat with a green flower and veiling trim. Her corsage was of orchids.

Francis Powers, 606 Miller Ave., a cousin of the bride, gave her in marriage.

Miss June Stumpf, Rockwell City, Ia., was the maid of honor. With her brown gabardine suit, she wore tan accessories and a corsage of yellow jonquils.

Floyd Clifton was his brother’s best man.

Mrs. Pfeiffer witnessed the ceremony in a navy blue suit and the bridegroom’s mother wore a lavender dress. Both had corsages of gardenias and tiny pink roses.

Following the ceremony a breakfast was served to 40 guests at Kennedy Manor. Later the couple left for Chicago.

Mr. Clifton is employed by the Wis. Power and Light Co. The bride is employed at the First National Bank.

Mr. and Mrs. Clifton will reside at 1317 Spaight St. after May 10.
