Stark, Helen L. (2 JUL 1949)

The Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, was the scene of a lovely and beautiful wedding ceremony solemnized at nuptial mass at 9 o’clock Saturday morning, July 2nd, 1949. The Rt. Rev. Fr. Raymond Bornbach officiated at the ceremony uniting Helen L. Stark, daughter of Herman Stark, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), to Anton Nowak of Waukesha, in a double ring ceremony.

The bride’s gown was styled of slipper satin with a fingertip veil. She wore a beautiful rhinestone cross, which was a gift of the groom and carried a bridal bouquet of red roses and calla lilies. Attending her in her bridal party were Francis Ebben, as maid of honor, and bridesmaid Rita Biwer. They were attired in gowns of powder blue and pink taffeta respectively and wore a string of pearls which they received as a gift from the bride. They carried bouquets of pink carnations.

Attending the groom as best man was his brother Alex and groomsman, Harvey Luer of Chetek. All wore conventional business suits of blue.

During the ceremony Mrs. Paul Strohkirch, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. W. K. Doonan, sang the "Ave Maria."

The bride is a graduate of the Owen High School with the class of 1942. Since her graduation she has been employed in Chicago, Ill. and Waukesha, Wis.

The groom served two years in the United State Army and since his discharge three years ago had been employed in Waukesha,

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Hill, Owen, and a wedding dance held that evening at the Merry ‘Ol Gardens.
