Witte, Richard H. (2 Feb. 1886 - 22 Feb. 1962)

Richard H. Witte died last Thursday at 8:20 P.M. at the age of 76 years in the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Green Grove, Rev. Howard Timmerman officiating and internment was made in the parish cemetery. Pall bearers were Rudy Schoelzel, Emil Luchterhand, Edgar Laux, Harold Block, Roy Hardrath and Ernest Kowalk.

Mr. Witte was born on February 2, 1886, in Manitowoc county and received his education in schools there. He moved to Clark county with his parents when he was 15 years old and farmed in the town of Colby until his recent illness. He was married at Neillsville in June, 1922, to Bernice Roohr. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church.

Surviving are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. George (Beulah) Foelsch of Moberly, Mo.; three sons, Richard and Hubert of Colby and Wilbur of Vesper; 15 grand children and a sister, Mrs. Martha Hoerner of Owen. A daughter, two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
