Kelley, Frank James Francis (15 September 1895 - 27 June 1951)

Frank James Francis Kelley, well known stock shipper, dropped dead at the stock yards near the Farmers Union Elevator on Wednesday afternoon at 1:15. Death was due to a heart attack.

Funeral services were conducted on Saturday at 2 o’clock from the Georgas Funeral Home with the Rev. R. Banks Blocher officiating. Interment was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Kelley was born on September 15, 1895, in Richland County to John F. and Julia Wickham Kelley. He came to the Town of York with his family in 1905. They farmed there and in the town of Pine Valley.

Since 1921 he has been engaged in trucking and cattle buying.

He is survived by two half-sisters, Gladys Parrett of Neillsville and Mrs. Clarence (Nina) Bardell of Waukegan, Ill.; three brothers, John F. Kelley of the Town of York, William J. Kelley of San Francisco, Cal., and Thomas Kelley of Owen; four half-brothers, Keith Parrett of N. Chicago, Ill., Clifford Parrett of Wisconsin Rapids, John Parrett of Marshfield and Ray Parrett of Spokane, Wash.

Pallbearers were Edward Gault, George Beeckler, George Tibbett, Joy Stanton, Linus Prock and Mike Hopkins.

Funeral notes by Mrs. Charles Hubing: -- Funeral services were conducted on Saturday for Frank Kelley at the Georgas Funeral Home. Interment was made in the city cemetery.

Mrs. Donald Schultz sang two selections accompanied by Mrs. Jess Scott.

Ladies in charge of the floral offerings were Mrs. Carl Thoma, Mrs. Elmer Keller, Mrs. Lawrence Helwig, Mrs. George Beeckler, Mrs. George Tibbett, Mrs. Janie Paulus, Mrs. Franklin Reindel and Mrs. Art Kunze.

Persons from out of town attending the rites included Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Parrett, David, Donald, Margaret and Thomas Parrett, all of Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Bardell and Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Bardell and family of Waukegan, Ill., William H. O’Brien and Martin O’Brien of Black River Falls, Mr. and Mrs. Keith Parrett and family of North Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Jack Parrett of Marshfield, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Sischo and Mrs. Anna O’Brien of Wisconsin Rapids, and Mrs. Raymond Parrett and family of Stratford.

John Kelley, former yard-master at Abbotsford, and who has been visiting relative in Tennessee for a couple months, has returned and expects to take his old job again.  John is one of the Clark county game wardens and will look after violations and violators.
