Fischer, Henry F. (23 June 1935 - 18 Mar. 2009)

OWEN -- Henry F. Fischer, 73, of Owen, died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at the Saint Josephs Hospital Palliative Care Unit, Marshfield.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the Peace United Church of Christ in Dorchester, followed by an 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial will take place following the service at the Pine Hill cemetery in the town of Mayville. Military rites will be performed at the cemetery.

The Maurina Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Henry was born on June 23, 1935, in Waukesha, to Henry Sr. and Esther (Schultz) Fischer. He joined the Army Reserves and worked as an airplane mechanic. On Nov. 16, 1968, he married Ardith Schwarze in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Together, they farmed in Pewaukee until 1977. Then they moved to Owen and continued to farm and raise a family.

He is survived by his wife, Ardith Fischer of Owen; two sons, Paul (Sara) Fischer of Owen and David (Erin) Fischer of DeForest; three grandchildren; two sisters, Carolyn (Calvin) Byers of Pewaukee and Lois (William) Leissner of Brookfield.
