Hoeper, Rocena (18 APR 1872 - 26 OCT 1949)

Mrs. Rocena Hoeper passed away at her home in Owen (Clark Co., Wis.) at 1:25 p.m., on Oct. 26th, 1949, after an illness of several years duration. Funeral services will be held at the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin) on Saturday afternoon, Oct. 29th at 2 p.m. with Dr. Crosby officiating. The Eastern Star rites will be held at the Riverside Cemetery.

Rocena Hoeper was born at Menasha, Wis. on April 18, 1872. She was united in marriage to Frederick Henry Hoeper on the 27th of Sept., 1892. They lived in Milwaukee for eight years, then moved to Phlox, Wis. in 1900, where they made their home until 1914, at which time they moved to Owen. Her husband preceded her in death on Jan. 17, 1916.

She is survived by two daughters, Irna (Mrs. Albert Serley) of Clintonville, Wis.; Betty (Mrs. Kenneth Tompkins) of Brookfield, Ill.; seven sons, Irvin, Wyandotte, Mich.; Charles of Elmwood Park, Ill.; Arnold of Withee; Fred of Curtiss; William of Owen; Edwin of Chicago and Claude of Oak Lawn, Ill. Also twenty-one grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Her oldest grandson, Irvin, Jr., an airplane pilot, was killed in World War II.

The pallbearers at the funeral services will be Bert Morley, Gust Braun, John Parker, Ben Bruchert, Julius Johnson and Fred Hayes. The flower girls are: Mrs. Ben Bruchert, Mrs. John Gummerson, Mrs. Bert Morley, Mrs. Margaret Brandt, Mrs. Gust Braun.
