Keskimaki, Lauri (5 MAY 1916 - 23 OCT 1949)

Lauri Keskimaki, 33, was aid to rest in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), yesterday afternoon when final rites were conducted for him. Funeral services were held from the Griebenow Funeral Home (Owen, Wisconsin), Owen, with the Rev. V. A. Puotinen, pastor of the Bethany Evangelical Lutheran Church at Owen, reading the service.

Pallbearers were Jum Juntinen, Oscar Neibacker, Richard Williams, Clifford Williams, Eddie Potocnik and Bud Hamm. Flower girls were Shirley and Joyce Karaba, Gene and Virginia Smith, Rosetta Hansen, Bernice Potocnik, Avis Wagner, Bernadine Williams, Mrs. Matt Novak, Mrs. Richard Williams and Mrs. Rollie Werner.

Lauri Keskimaki was born on May 5, 1916, in the Town of Holway, and passed away at the home of his sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jim Keskimaki, on Sunday, Oct. 23rd, 1949, after suffering for several months from a lingering illness. He had spent his entire life on the farm which he worked, but this past year his illness had limited his activities. The past four months of his life he was hospitalized at hospitals in Marshfield and Rochester, Minn.

He is survived by his mother, Hanna, five sisters, Mrs. Emil (Kathryn) Hansen, Withee; Mrs. Frank (Irja) Smith, Owen; Mrs. Wm. (Gertrude) Smith, Owen; Mrs. Gordon (Ingrid) Hamrick, Curtiss; and Mrs. Harold (Edna) Williams, Withee; two brothers, Eugene and Martin, both of Withee, as well as a large host of friends and relatives to whom he had endeared himself.

Those from away that attended the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Karaba and Darlene, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Karaba, Milwaukee; Mrs. John Lehtonen, Negaunee, Mich.; Mrs. Adolph Hannula and Mrs. Lempi Hannula, Ishpeming, Mich.; Miss Jean Smith, Goodman, Wis.; Jorma Hill, Skandia, Mich.; Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Keskimaki, Chatham, Mich.; Eugene Keskimaki, Marquette, Mich.; Evelyn Keskimaki and Mrs. Alfred Hill, Even Junction, Mich.
