Fuchsgruber, Gretchen Louise (Marriage - 22 Sept. 1941)

Before the high altar in St. Louis’ Catholic Church in Dorchester at 9 o’clock on Monday morning, Miss Gretchen Louise Fuchsgruber, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Fuchsgruber and Arthur Frank Seidel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sauter of Dorchester, exchanged marriage vows in a double ring ceremony.

The Rev. Phillip Weller was celebrant of the nuptial high mass during which the church choir sang.

The bride who was given in marriage by her father wore a gown of white moiré taffeta fashioned with a long train, tight bodice, sweetheart neckline accented by pearl clips. The bodice buttoned down the back to the full skirt. Her silk illusion finger tip veil fell from a coronet of pearls and she carried a colonial bouquet of mixed flowers.

Miss Ruth Ann Fuchsgruber, in a frock of corn flower taffeta velveray made similar to the bride’s, attended her sister. Her shoulder length veil was fastened to a blue velvet head band.

Mrs. Edward Hollman, sister of the groom, attended the bride in a frock of deep rose taffeta velveray with matching shoulder veil. Both attendants wore wrist corsages of asters and sweet peas.

Myron Kramer and Edward Hollman attended the groom.

For the marriage ceremony of her daughter, Mrs. Fuchsgruber wore a plum colored fall dress of wool crepe with black accessories. The mother of the groom wore black wool crepe. Each had a corsage of sweet peas and asters.

A wedding breakfast for the bridal party was served at the home of the bride’s parents, and dinner for 30 guests was served at the Hotel Block. The dining room was decorated in blue and white. A three tiered wedding cake, blue candles and flowers completed the decorations.

A wedding dance was held in the evening at the Recreation Hall in Dorchester, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Seidel then left on a few days trip to the southern part of the state after which they will be at home to their friends in Dorchester where the groom is employed by John Mertens.

Among the guests from away who attended the wedding included: Mr. and Mrs. John Schmidt, Miss Tillie Schmidt, Mrs. Elsie Koppa, Abbotsford; Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Olson, Mrs. J. Fuchsgruber, Wausau; Mrs. Laurene Hanson, Chicago; Mrs. M. Miller, and daughters, Nancy and Judy, Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Rauscher, Marshfield.
