Leffel, Irene (Marriage - 4 Aug. 1962)

Miss Irene Leffel, daughter of Mrs. Bertha Leffel of Colby, and Harold Burkart, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Burkart of Stratford, exchanged marriage vows in St. Joseph’s Catholic church in Stratford Saturday, August 4, at 11 A.M. The bride was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, Earl Eiberg of Marshfield.

The bride was attired in a floor-length dress of white Alencon waist, scalloped neckline outlined with iridescent sequins and seed pearls and a skirt of alternate tiers of lace and tulle cascading down the back.

Her fingertip veil of silk illusion billowed from a crown of iridescent crystals. The bridal bouquet was a cascade arrangement.

Mrs. Earl Eiberg of Marshfield, the matron of honor, and Miss Diane Wehrman of Stratford, the bridesmaid, carried cascade bouquets of yellow and blue chrysanthemums and white sweetheart roses and were attired in all-silk organza frocks with the ballerina-length skirts having the dyed-in match silk lace, wide hems and rounded necklines on the fitted bodices. They had on matching headpieces with crystal crowns and silk veils.

Susie Wohlfort of Wausau was the flower girl and Mark Eiberg of Marshfield the ring bearer.

Joe Wohlfort of Stratford was best man and Vernon Leffel of Colby and Tom Burkart of Greenbelt, Md., were groomsmen. The ushers were Dennis Giese and Ernest Kramer, both of Stratford.

The reception and dance were held at Riverview Ballroom at Stratford.

The bride is a 1961 graduate of Colby High School and the groom is a 1965 graduate of Stratford High School. They are making their home in Marshfield.
