Gerken, Mr./Mrs. Frank (50th Anniv. - 22 Aug. 1962)

A Mass of Thanksgiving will be offered at 11:00 A.M. (DST) August 22, 1962, at St. Francis Iowa, honoring Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gerken, former Colby residents, on their fiftieth wedding anniversary. Following the mass, a dinner for the immediate family will be held at Dick’s Steak House.

The celebrants will hold open house at their home at 127 2nd Ave. S.W., Dyersville, for all relatives, friends and neighbors. No further invitations will be extended.

Frank Gerken and Anna Regal were married at St. Mary’s Church, Waverly, Iowa, on September 3, 1912, with the late Rev. William Kunkel officiating. Their attendants, Mrs. Edward (Laura) Klosterman of Dyersville and Mrs. William Gerken of Amarillo, Texas, will be present at the celebration.

Mr. and Mrs. Gerken are the parents of five children - three sons, Raphael, deceased, James of SanLeandro, California, and Giles of Martel, California, two daughters, Mrs. Joseph H. (Mary) Bildstein of Dyersville, and Mrs. Edward (Rita) Kruse of New Vienna. They have eleven grand-children.
