Miss Rena Bauer and Mrs. Emma Zillmer were called to Fremont Friday by the death of their brother, Irving E. Bauer. The funeral services were held in St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Fremont and burial was made in Oakwood Cemetery at Weyauwega.

Irving E. Bauer, Fremont Funeral Director, Dies

Irving E. Bauer of Fremont, owner and operator of the Bauer Furniture Store and Funeral Home for 50 years until he retired from the furniture business in 1956, died Friday morning after a three-month illness.

Born in Weyauwega, Dec. 28, 1885, Mr. Bauer was a member and past president of the Fremont-Weyauwega Lions Club.

He is survived by two daughter, four grandchildren, one brother, F. W. Bauer of Weyauwega, and two sisters, Mrs. Emma Zillmer and Miss Rena Bauer, both of Colby.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Fremont. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Weyauwega.

Friends may call at the Bauer Funeral Home, after 2 p.m., Saturday until noon Sunday and then at the church until time of service.

Zillmer, Emma (26 Jan 1882 – 10 Apr 1973)

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Zion Lutheran Church, Colby, for Emma Zillmer, 91, who died Tuesday evening at the Colonial House of Colby.

The Rev. David Pankow will officiate, with burial in the Weyauwega Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby, beginning at 1 p.m. today (Thursday).

Mrs. Zillmer, the former Emma Bauer, was born January 26, 1882 in Weyauwega. On April 26, 1911, she married Albert Zillmer, who died in 1931.

They operated a general merchandise store in New London, and for many years, operated a similar store in Colby.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Zion Sewing Circle and active in the Blue Sky Garden Club.

They had no children. Five sisters and two brothers preceded her in death.
