Hintz, Fredericka (16 Nov. 1845 - 11 Apr. 1942)

Mrs. Frederica Hintz, 96 years old, died Saturday, of old age, at the home of her son, William Hintz. Funeral services were held April 15 at 1:30 from the Lulloff Funeral Home, Colby and at 2:00 o’clock from the Christ Lutheran church, Abbotsford; burial was made in the town of Holton cemetery. The Rev. John Brandt officiated at the services.

The pallbearers were Henry Jacobi, Louie Beilke, Lorenz Wehrman, Nick Wibben, Helmuth Wirth and Fred Meske.

Mrs. Fredericka Hintz (nee Baker) was born in Germany, Nov. 16, 1845. At the age of 27 she came to the United States in May, 1873.

Fredericka Baker was married to Carl Hintz, March 15, 1874 at Milwaukee, Wisconsin. They lived there until November, 1880 when they moved to the Town of Holton on a farm. Her husband died there, Dec. 14, 1915. In September, 1920, she moved to Abbotsford, Wis. Early in the fall of 1936 she went to live with her two sons and daughters-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Hintz and Mr. and Mrs. Gust Hintz.

Five children were born to Carl and Fredericka Hintz: two died while infants, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Three sons, Charles, Fenwood; William and Gust., Abbotsford, survive their mother.

Mrs. Hintz, who had been seriously ill the past five weeks, died at the home of her son on April 11, 1942 at 11:45 p.m.

Those who survive are the three sons: Charles, Fenwood; William and Gust of the town of Holton; two grand children and three great grand children.
