Radtke, Christina (5 Nov. 1857 - 7 Sept. 1942)

Simple funeral services for Mrs. Christina Radtke, 84, were held at the home at 2:00 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, in accordance with her last wishes. The Rev. J. Brandt officiated and internment followed in the Holton cemetery.

Four grandsons, Ernest, Earl, Bob and Vernon Boss; Herbert Meyers and Ed Lueth acted as pallbearers. The flowers were carried by three grand daughters, Mrs. Herbert Meyers, the Misses Violet and Ruth Boss, and Mrs. Earl Boss.

Christina Grisar was born Nov. 5, 1857 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. A few years after her marriage there to Henry Boss, they came to their farm in the Town of Holton. This they cleared out of a wilderness and lived there until about 1912, when they moved to the village.

Four sons and one daughter were born to them, the daughter, Hattie, died in infancy, and the son, Ed, about 26 years ago. Mr. Boss also preceded her in death 22 years ago.

Her second husband, August Radtke also preceded her in death, 16 years ago.

Mrs. Radtke died at her home, Sept. 7, at 12:30 a.m., after a prolonged illness.

Surviving her are three sons: Bernard and Walter, Abbotsford, and Herbert, Walla Walla, Wash. The grand children are Ernest, Earl, Victor, Robert, Violet, Vernon, Ruth and Mrs. Herbert Meyers, children of Walter, and Mrs. Van Trees of Chicago, daughter of Ed. There are also five great grand children.

Her only two brothers preceded her in death in Grafton; one a year ago, the other, this past summer.
