Christensen, Marie Elizabeth (14 Feb. 1887 - 22 Jan. 1943)

Funeral services for Mrs. August Christensen, who died Friday at Milwaukee, were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Zink Funeral Home, where the body had been lying in state since Saturday. They were conducted by the Rev. John Brandt, pastor of Christ Evangelical Lutheran church, which church the deceased attended. Internment followed in the Abbotsford cemetery.

The pallbearers were William Hackel, Otto Hackel, Andrew Zobrak, Clyde Strebe, Ernest Kramer and Harry Olson.

Marie Elizabeth Reich was born Feb. 14, 1887, in Freeland, Pa. On Nov. ?, 1915 she was married in New York City to August Christensen. In 1939, Mr. and Mrs. Christensen moved to Abbotsford from Milwaukee and lived here until last July when they returned to Milwaukee to make their home there.

Mrs. Christensen had been ill the past three months with heart trouble and died at Milwaukee General hospital, Friday evening at 6:50.

She is survived by her husband, August Christensen, of Milwaukee; Mrs. Emma Fischer, her mother, of Abbotsford; Herman Weldon, a son of a previous marriage; and two grand children, Darlene and William Weldon, of Holton.
