Knight, Selma (Marriage - 12 June 1943)
A wedding reception for about 75 guests at the Meadowview Country club at Owen followed the church ceremony which united Miss Selma Knight, daughter of Mrs. Helga Knight, of Curtiss, and Levi Ecke, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ecke, of Marshfield, in marriage. The Rev. G. E. Borreson read the service in the Curtiss Evangelical Lutheran church, Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her brother-in-law, John Lokke, wore a gown of white marquisette silk with lace yoke and a train. Her veil was finger tip length and her colonial bouquet held white roses, sweet peas and lily of the valley.
Attending her was Miss Hazel Christianson, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She wore a frock of blue silk celanese and a shoulder length veil fastened to a coronet of flowers. She also carried a colonial bouquet of pink roses and pink sweet peas.
Attending the groom was Albert Dering, Prentice.
For her daughter’s marriage, the bride’s mother was dressed in navy blue with white accessories. The groom’s mother wore printed jersey.
Miss Maxine Thorson, Withee, played the bridal marches and Billy Richardson, Owen, played the violin. During the ceremony Eugene Koblitz sang, "I Love You Truly," and "Because."
Garden flowers were used in the church and Country club.
