Burow, Viola (Marriage - 6 Oct. 1943)

Miss Viola Burow, of the town of Frankfort, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Burow, of Colby, became the bride of Edward Westphal of the town of Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. August Westphal, of Abbotsford, in a nuptial ceremony performed at 2:00 o’clock in St. John’s Lutheran church in the town of Wien, Wednesday.

The Rev. Ernest Notbohm officiated and Mrs. Henry Bauman was soloist.

White duchess satin fashioned the princess style bridal gown, trimmed with Alencon lace inserts extending from the shoulders to the tip of the long flowing train. The softly draped bodice of the frock was embroidered with seed pearls to match the seed pearl headdress which held her fingertip veil and she carried a shower bouquet of mixed flowers.

Attendants were Mr. and Mrs. Edward Nagel, Edgar, brother-in-law and sister of the bride, and Miss Frieda and Otto Westphal, of Chicago, sister and brother of the groom.

Mrs. Nagel wore a pink taffeta frock made with a full gathered skirt, snug bodice, and short, puffed sleeves and Miss Westphal chose a blue flowered sheer gown with which she wore a matching shoulder-length veil. Both carried similar bouquets of mixed flowers.

Following the ceremony 75 guests were served supper at the home of the bride’s parents, decorated with pink, blue and white streamers and there was a dance at the Trianon Gardens in the evening.

The couple will be at home to their friends in the town of Milan where the groom is engaged in trucking.

Guests from Chicago, Theresa, Edgar, Wausau, Marathon, Dorchester, Abbotsford, and Rib Falls were present for the occasion.
