Laabs, Hilda Sophia (26 Apr. 1910 - 25 Jan. 1944)

Funeral services for Mrs. Hilda Laabs who died of complications at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Tuesday afternoon, will be held at the West Side church at Greenwood, Monday, Jan. 31. The Rev. Fresenberg will conduct the services, and internment will be made in the West Side cemetery.

The pall bearers will be Cyril Rakovec, Arno Miller, Tony Goser, Harry Leibzeit, George Gemneke and George Saliskar.

Mrs. Laabs was born Hilda Sophia Abel, April 26, 1910, in the town of Eaton, in Clark county. She was married in September, 1929, to William Laabs at Greenwood.

Mrs. Laabs, who had been ill at her home in Abbotsford, was taken to the home of her father, John Abel, at Greenwood, on January 12th, and, the following Monday was taken to St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, where she died at 5:40 on Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 25.

She is survived by her two sons, Lawrence, 13, and Lester, 10, now at Greenwood, her father, John Abel, one brother, Gilbert, and a sister, Mrs. Norbert Juster, all of the town of Warner, near Greenwood.

Her mother preceded her in death on March 17, 1938.
