Local Items

Mrs. Eldred Viets was admitted to Le Gault hospital, Owen, Monday night and underwent an appendectomy there, Tuesday morning. Mr. Viet’s mother came from Chippewa Falls to take care of the two boys.

Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Schraufnagel and daughter, Judy, Green Bay, came Saturday and remained until Sunday afternoon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Engelking. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Schraufnagel also spent Sunday at the Engelking home.

Mr. and Mrs. August Weideman and Mrs. Charles Miller were Colby callers, Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Berger, accompanied by their daughter, Marguerite Ann, of Unity, visited another daughter, Mrs. Leon Beyerl, at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, Monday evening. Mrs. Beyerl, of Auburndale, was admitted to the hospital earlier that day.

Pfc. Louis Shecklman of Crossville, Tenn., visited at the home of Mrs. Frank Chris, Sunday.

Miss Emma Larson and her sister, Mrs. Lars Thompson, of Curtiss, attended the St. Olaf’s choir concert at the Wausau junior high school auditorium, Tuesday evening.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Shecklman and family have moved to a farm near Marshfield. They lived on the farm known as the Thompson farm, west of Abbotsford, Wis. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Geiger, Jr., of Dorchester, have purchased it and have moved on the place with their family.

Mrs. G. C. Chronquist, Marshfield, spent Monday afternoon with Mrs. A. J. Folstad and at the M. N. Hutt and Calvin Hills homes. In the evening, Dr. Chronquist came to call for her.

Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Cornelius left Saturday for Milwaukee to visit relatives. They returned today.

Cpl. William Schaetzka, on furlough from California, visited his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Peterson, Tuesday, last week. On Wednesday, Mr. Peterson accompanied him to Oxford and Ripon where they visited relatives. Mr. Peterson returned here Monday night and was met at Marshfield by Mr. and Mrs. George Brown.

Mrs. Anthony Sara arrived from Milwaukee, Monday night, to spend the week here with her father, Frank Kadonsky. Her brother, Tech. Sgt. Raymond Kadonsky met her at *** Note: The remainder of this article was missing.
