Stoughton, Christine (29 June 1863 - 22 Oct. 1944)

Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Stoughton, 81, who died Sunday morning, will be held at 10:00 o’clock Saturday morning in St. Bernard’s Catholic church. The Rev. Francis Brockman will sing the requiem high mass and internment will be made in the Dorchester cemetery.

Mrs. Stoughton was born Christine Kadonsky, June 29, 1863 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

On April 1, 1883, she was married to Frank Stoughton and the couple homesteaded a farm in the Town of Holton near the one on which her parents lived.

At various periods in their married life they lived in Fifield, Sheboygan Falls and Marshfield, and for about the past 40 years they lived in Abbotsford, Wis.

On April 2, 1943, Mr. and Mrs. Stoughton quietly celebrated their 60 years of married life and on May 26 Mr. Stoughton died. Mrs. Stoughton continued to make her home here and with the help of her daughter, Mrs. Jack Boyle, of Joliet, Ill., who had come last week, were making preparations and plans for the coming winter. She became ill, Saturday morning, and died Sunday afternoon at her home at 4:45, of a heart ailment.

The body is lying in state at the Zink Funeral home, where a rosary service will be held Friday evening at 8:00 o’clock.

Mrs. Stoughton is survived by four children: George of Milan; William, Watford City, N. Dak.; Mrs. G. B. (Clara) Shead, North Bend, Oregon; and Mrs. Jack (Libbie) Boyle, Joliet, Illinois.

Ten grand children and two great grand children, and the following brothers and sister also survive: Frank Kadonsky, Abbotsford; John Kadonsky, Abbotsford, Route; Mrs. Frank Bucholz, Nekoosa; and Mrs. Pete Kinzel, Norwich, N. Dak.

The children are all expected to be present for the funeral.

Funeral services for Mrs. Christine Stoughton, who died at her home, Oct. 22, were held Saturday morning at 10:00 o’clock with the Rev. Francis Brockman singing the requiem high mass. Internment was made in the Catholic cemetery at Dorchester, Wis.

Pallbearers were Joe Elfert, Ed Feala, George Greaser, Adolph Kalepp, John Schefsick and Charles Scheibe.

Among the relatives from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Jack Boyle, Joliet, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. William Stoughton, Watford City, N. Dak.; Mrs. G. B Shead, North Bend, Oregon; Mr. and Mrs. George Stoughton, Corinth; Mrs. Louis Bucholz and son, Lawrence, Nekoosa; and Miss Margie Stoughton, Marshfield.
