Amacher, Jean (Marriage - 1 June 1945)

In a double ring ceremony, marriage vows between Miss Jean Amacher, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Amacher, Meford, and John Bremer, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bremer, Sr., Abbotsford, were exchanged Friday afternoon, June 1, at 2:30. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. D. H. Mueller before the altar of the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Medford, decorated with narcissi and bleeding hearts. Miss Lila Brede sang "Jesus Lead Thou On."

The bride wore a gown of white with a tight fitting lace bodice and net over satin bouffant skirt. Her fingertip veil was caught with orange blossoms and she wore a string of pearls. Salmon colored roses, sweet peas and lilies of the valley made up her bouquet.

Attending were her sisters, Bernice and Marilyn, as maid of honor and bridesmaid. Her cousin, Carol Amacher, Abbotsford, was flower girl.

Gowns of the attendants were made alike with brown velvet bodices and skirts of net over taffeta; turquoise for the maid of honor, yellow for the bridesmaid and peach for the flower girl. They all carried colonial bouquets of yellow roses, snapdragons and lilies of the valley. They wore narcissi in their hair.

Attending the groom as best man was Armond Amacher, brother of the bride, and Norman Fenske, nephew of the groom, was usher. Mark Amacher, little brother of the bride, carried the two rings in a calla lily.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Supper was served to about 80 guests. A decorated wedding cake and bouquets of roses were used on the bridal table.

Mr. and Mrs. Bremer left on a week’s wedding trip to northern Wisconsin after which they will be at home on the groom’s farm, Abbotsford, Wis. Mrs. Bremer, who was employed at the Abbotsford Hardware Store before her marriage, will continue there.
