Kuehnast, Elizabeth (23 July 1879 - 8 Jan. 1946)

Funeral services for Mrs. E. F. Kuehnast, 76, who died at her home, Tuesday evening, will be held Saturday afternoon at 2:00 o’clock at the Presbyterian church with the Rev. George E. Griffiths officiating. Burial will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Zink Funeral Home until Saturday morning when it will be taken to the church at 11:30. Mrs. Kuehnast was a member of the Presbyterian church.

Elizabeth Moses was born July 23, 1879, in Chippewa Falls, one of nine children. She was united in marriage in June, 1901, to Ernest F. Kuehnast in Chippewa Falls and came as a bride to Abbotsford where her husband was conductor for the Soo Line. To this union seven children were born, all of whom survive their mother.

A number of years ago, Mrs. Kuehnast underwent a thyroid operation and then a vocal chord operation, after which she was never in really good health. On Tuesday she seemed worse and at 10:15 at night died peacefully in her sleep of embolism.

Mrs. Kuehnast leaves her husband and the following children: Mrs. Chester (Velma) Brown, Milwaukee; Wilbur, Abbotsford; Robert, Chippewa Falls; Mrs. Edward (Evelyn) Nunke, Minneapolis; Emery, Chippewa Falls; and Emaline, at home, who are twins; and Mrs. Frank (Marian) Stetter, Chicago. There are ten grand children.

Funeral services for Mrs. E. F. Kuehnast, 66, who died of embolism at her home on Jan. 8, were held Saturday afternoon at the Presbyterian church at 2:00 o’clock with the Rev. George E. Griffiths officiating. Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

The pallbearers were Frank Bernitt, Fred Earl, Walter Fults, Coral Hirsch, Charles Hoffman and Frank Wing. The flowers were carried by Mrs. Fred Earl, Mrs. M. C. Bunnell, Mrs. L. K. Neitzel, Mrs. Alfred Scheel and Mrs. Rose Brown.

All of the children attended the funeral as well as one brother, Robert Moses, Waukegan, Ill., and a sister, Mrs. Mary Buntz, Augusta.

Other relatives and friends from away present at the funeral were:

Dr. and Mrs. Oscar Moland and two children of Augusta, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Kuehnast and Mrs. Rose Brown, of Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. John Schoeneman, Wausau; and Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Elliott, Chippewa Falls.
