Horn, Oscar A. #3 (22 DEC 1886 - 15 JAN 1951)

Funeral services were conducted at two o’clock this afternoon from the Braun Settlement Parish for Oscar Horn, 64, with the Rev. Fresenborg, Greenwood, officiating.

The deceased was found dead by Henry Sorenson, Owen, with whom he was sharing a room at the Fremont Hotel at about 4 a.m. Monday. Mr. Sorenson immediately notified Chief of Police, Adolph Haavisto. Coroner John Bergmann said that Horn’s death was due to a heart attack. He had been troubled by a heart condition previously and several months ago slumped over while at work at the Master Package Corp.

Oscar August Horn was born Dec. 22, 1886 in the Town of Longwood (Clark Co., Wis.). He passed away Jan. 15, 1951 of a heart attack at the age of 64 years.

He was married to Anna Damrow on Sept. 22, 1915. To this union were born 5 children. His wife preceded him in death in Jan. 1928.

He is survived by his 5 children: Arlene (Mrs. All Hasech) of Milwaukee; Kenneth of Willard; Helen (Mrs. Ollie Bodsted) of Spring; LeRoy of Chicago and Violet (Mrs. LeRoy Wadzinski) of Dancy.

Also surviving are six brothers: Art of South Dakota and Gust, Henry, Otto, Hubert of Greenwood, and Ervin of Owen. Also three sisters; Laura (Mrs. Wm. Beecraft) of Oregon; Dora (Mrs. Mike Schuman) of South Dakota and Tillie (Mrs. George Poppe) of Greenwood. He also has 7 grandchildren.

For the past ten years he has been employed at the Master Package Corp. in Owen, during which time he made his home at the George Poppe residence.
