Friends and relatives gave Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Smasal a very pleasant surprise when they gathered at their home Saturday evening, Jan. 27th and helped them celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary, which was Jan. 26th, 1951.

For entertainment, Mr. and Mrs. Smasal were asked to put on bridal clothes which were brought along by some of the guests. The bride’s gown was an old fashioned nightgown trimmed with eyelet embroidered yolk and long sleeves, and a white sash. She wore white gardenias in her hair and a white veil which was a discarded parlor curtain. She carried a bouquet of paper peonies with silver ribbon streamers. She also wore a beautiful corsage of red and white tea roses with green ferns and silver leaves tied with silver ribbon that was especially made for her by Mrs. Steve Pacewicz. The groom wore a very snug fitting light blue sport coat, grey trousers, brown shirt, black bow tie and a black derby hat. His carnation boutonniere was also made for him by Mrs. Pacewicz.

As the bridal couple entered arm in arm into the parlor, Miss Natalie Ann Scherf played "Here Come the Bride" on the piano. Later Eileen Johnson sang "Because" and "Stardust," accompanied on the piano by Miss Elsie Petersen.
