Hammerstrom, Clareen L. (6 APR 1945)

Before an altar decorated with ferns and palms and candle-lighted, Miss Clareen L. Hammerstrom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Hammerstrom of Minneapolis, and a former Loyal resident, became the bride of James W. Perkins, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. T. Perkins of Claremont, S.D., in a nuptial ceremony read at 8 p.m. Apr. 6 in the Hope Lutheran church in Minneapolis.

Attired in a deep coral formal gown and wearing a corsage of roses, Miss Patricia Haas, student at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, sang "O Promise Me" and "Because."

The bride, wearing a long white satin gown and a fingertip veil caught to a crown of seed pearls, was given in marriage by her father. Her bridal bouquet was an arrangement of white snapdragons, lilies and carnations.

Miss Arduth Perkins, a sister of the groom, in a blue faille frock and carrying a bouquet of yellow jonquils and pink carnations was maid of honor. Miss Beverly Boe, a cadet nurse at Northwestern hospital in Minneapolis, was senior bridesmaid and chose a pink formal frock styled with a lace bodice and net skirt. Her bouquet was identical to the one carried by Miss Perkins. Miss Phyllis Hammerstrom, a cousin of the bride, as junior bridesmaid, wore a gown of blue lace and net and carried a colonial bouquet of mixed flowers.

Pfc. Laverne C. Hammerstrom of Indianapolis, Ind., a brother of the bride, was best man.

The bride’s mother wore an aqua street frock and a corsage of white roses, while the groom’s mother wore a corsage of red roses on her street dress of blue.

Following the service, a reception was held for 60 guests at the home of the bride’s parents.

Mrs. Perkins attended schools at Prentice and Loyal and was graduated from the Marshall high school at Minneapolis. She is now employed in a doctor’s office. Mr. Perkins is a graduate of the Claremont high school and is a veteran of World War ll. He is attending a commercial air school in St. Paul.

After a brief honeymoon in Chicago, the couple is now at home to friends at 224 Como avenue, St. Paul.

Guests at the wedding included Mrs. Howard Cutler, Mrs. Frank Cutler, Mrs. Sam Curr, Mrs. Rudingen, and Mrs. F. Boe of Claremont, S.D.; Mrs. Annie Nelson of Omega; Mrs. Emily Swenson of Madison, and Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Moen of Marshfield.

The Loyal Tribune joins their many friends in wishing them a long and happy journey through life.
