Thompson, Theodore #3 (22 APR 1882 - 11 APR 1951)

Theodore Thompson of Curtiss (Clark Co., Wis.), who was fatally injured while sawing wood on his farm in the Town of Hoard on Wednesday, April 11, 1951, was born on the same farm April 22, 1882. He spent his whole life on the farm up to October 1949 when he moved into the village of Curtiss. He was married on June 17, 1917 at Menomonie to Victoria Sampson. He served as treasurer of the Town of Hoard for twenty four years and trustee for the Clark Co. Hospital for over twenty years. He was a director of the Curtiss State Bank for fifteen years and vice president since 1948.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Harold (Ruth Ann) Frank of Curtiss and Miss Mary Thompson, a teacher in the Neenah Schools and three granddaughters. Two brothers, Oscar of Los Angeles, Calif., Arthur of Curtiss; four sisters, Mrs. Christine Matthias, Mrs. E. M. Peterson, Curtiss, Mrs. Ida Peterson, Monroe, Wash., Mrs. J. E. Simpson of Sturgeon Bay.. A brother, Carl, lost his life in World War I and a sister preceded him in death in 1949.

The Rev. O. K. Odland officiated at the final rites and burial was made in the family lot in the parish cemetery. Clark Nissen, accompanied by Mrs. Anne Jakel, sang "Prayer Perfect" and "I’n But a Stranger Here." Honorary pallbearers were Dr. H. H. Christofferson, W. J. rush, Claude Whitney, Calvin Mills, John Miller, Orville Laabs and Harold Tonn. Active pallbearers were A. M. Erickson, Emil R. Erickson, Cornell Erickson, Cornell Erickson, Albert Bakke, Gust Becken and Al Nelson. In charge of the floral tributes were Miss Clara Peterson, Mesdames A. M. Erickson, Albert Bakke, Marcus Hermanson, Ida Schiszik, Wm. Steinke, John Borgemoen, Anna Peterson and Robert Nissen.

Among out of town relatives and friends attending the rites were Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Erickson, Westby; Mr. and Mrs. August Sampson, Wittenberg; Mrs. Hans Anderson, Neenah; Mrs. Veronica Mikkelson, Larson, Wis.; Miss Mattie Sampson and Mrs. Selma Sampson, Menomonie; Mr. and Mrs. Jens Klavistad, Whitehall; Miss Marian Olson, Osseo; Mr. and Mrs. W. J. rush, Oluf Olson and Mrs. Ellen Johnson of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Hagenbarth, Greenwood; Mr. and Mrs. Ragnvald Berg, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Olson, John Olson, Joe Olson, Melvin, Victor and Arthur Olson, all of Strum; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Peterson, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Graham of Osceola; Miss Dorothy Thompson, Stevens Point, and a large number of friends from Owen, Abbotsford and Colby, Wis.
