Woik, Violet #2 (23 JUN 1951)

Miss Violet Louise Woik, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Woik, Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), and Arlyn Ebeling, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Ebeling, Colby, were united in marriage at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, June 23, 1951, in the Peace Evangelical Reformed Church, Curtiss. Rev. T. P. Puhlman officiated at the double ring ceremony.

The bride was attired in a slipper satin gown designed with a high round neckline, long sleeves ending in points over the wrists, and a full skirt, which extended into a long train. Her veil of English illusion was attached to a tiara of beaded pearls and she carried a bridal bouquet of red and white roses tied with white satin ribbon.

Miss Olga Woik, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, wore an orchid marquisette over taffeta formal, featuring a fitted bodice and a high round neckline. A row of ruffles formed an of the shoulder effect which was repeated on the skirt. Mrs. Norman Schorer, Stevens Point, sister of the groom, and Miss Darlene Schorer, a niece of the groom, acting as bridesmaids respectively, were dressed in yellow and green formals identical to that of the maid of honor. Completing their ensembles were floral headdresses, gauntlets and bouquets of yellow, orchid and green carnations.

Another niece of the groom, Miss Diane Schorer, as miniature bride, wore a white satin gown with lace ruffles bordering the yoke and encircling the full skirt. Her veil was bordered with lace and caught with a beaded crown and she carried a bouquet of carnations.

Raymond Liepke, Owen, acted as best man, and Norman Schorer of Stevens Point, was groomsman.

The bride’s mother wore an aqua sheer crepe dress while the groom’s mother chose an aqua rayon dress. Each had white accessories and corsages of lilies of the valley and red roses.

A reception was held at four o’clock at the Woodland Hotel, Owen, where the table was centered with a three-tiered wedding cake.

A dance was held later at Walter’s Pavilion in Colby, Wis.

Guests present were from Hartford, Chicago, Stevens point, Medford, Colby, Abbotsford and Owen.

The bride is a graduate of the Owen High School, while the groom attended the Colby schools.

After a brief honeymoon in the southern part of the state, the couple will make their home at 824 ½ Eleventh Av., Wausau, where the groom is employed by Marathon Electric Co. of that city.
