Smith, Albert & Angeline (30 JUN 1951)

Mr. and Mrs. Albert Smith were host to a large number of friends and relatives at their home on Saturday evening, June 30, 1951, to celebrate their Silver Wedding Anniversary.

Angeline Burtard and Albert Smith were married June 20, 1926 at Curtiss (Clark Co.), Wis.

About 250 people attended the celebration. A buffet luncheon was served from a beautifully decorated table at which a large wedding cake and garden flowers formed the center piece.

A program was given on the lawn consisting of two reading by Mrs. Jack McCorrison. The audience, accompanied by Lawrence Klemetson on the concertina, sang "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" and "Spring Time In the Rockies."

Taking part in the wedding were Fritz Laabs, bride, and Martha Laabs, groom. Mrs. Vera Dean Laabs, brother of the bride, gave her away in marriage. Arthur Laabs, bridesmaid, Anita Bucy, best man, Delores Smith, flower girl, Harry Laabs, ring bearer and J. T. Bucy, minister, completed the bridal group at the mock wedding.

The Smiths were presented with a purse and many lovely gifts on this memorable occasion.

Those from away attending were Mr. and Mrs. Arne Harris and son, Mrs. Harry Elert, Mrs. Algie Netto and children of Milwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Glenzer of Whittelsey, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Crement, Chicago, Ill.: Mr. and Mrs. Al Balthazar, Mrs. Engman Gilbertson, Fond du Lac; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Smith, Eldorado and a large number of friends from the Owen, Curtiss, Abbotsford and Milan areas.
