Stange, Frank J. (27 Oct. 1876 - 2 May 1946)

Funeral services for Frank J. Stange, 69, who died at his home at 5:20 this morning, will be held Sunday afternoon. A short service will be held at the home at 1:00 o’clock to be followed by services at 2:00 o’clock in Curtiss at the Lutheran church, of which Mr. Stange was a member. Internment will be made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Lulloff Funeral Home at Colby until Sunday morning when it will be taken to the home.

Mr. Stange was born Oct. 27, 1876 in Germany. When he was 12 years old he came to America with his parents and lived in Vernon county on a farm. Here he was married to Miss Minnie Proksch on April 10, 1907. They lived there until 1917 when they moved to a farm three miles north of Curtiss where the son, John, now lives.

Seven years ago Mr. Stange retired and he and Mrs. Stange moved to Abbotsford, Wis. Mr. Stange has been in failing health for some time and recently was hospitalized. He returned home but never regained his strength.

He leaves his widow and two married children: John, of Curtiss, and Mrs. Rudolph (Mae) Younker, of Marshfield. There are seven grand children and one sister, who lives at Stoddard.

On Sunday afternoon at 1:00 o’clock the funeral sevices for Frank J. Stange, who died Thursday, May 2, were held. The body had been lying in state at the home and here a service was held at 1:00 o’clock after which the body was taken to St. Pauls’ Lutheran church at Curtiss at 2:00 o’clock. The Rev. M. C. Goetsch conducted services during which the choir sang the hymn, "Asleep in Jesus." Internment was made in the Abbotsford cemetery.

The pallbearers were John Daellenbach, Oscar Hoverson, Reinhold and Arthur Klocki, Herman Lapp and Gust Uhlig.

Among the relatives from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Fred Schlicht, La Crosse; Mrs. William Lampreck and son, Harry and Alvin, Mr. and Mrs. William Proksch, all of Stoddard; and Mr. and Mrs. Al Proksch, of Iron River, Mich.
