Miller, Mabel (Marriage - 17 May 1946)

On Friday afternoon, May 17, marriage vows were exchanged between Miss Mabel Miller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Miller, of Abbotsford, and Merlin Fenhouse, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fenhouse, of Spencer. The Rev. Arthur Stapel read the double ring service at 3:00 o’clock in the Lutheran church at Spencer. During the ceremony Miss Carol Favert sang "O Promise Me."

For the occasion the bride wore a gown of white net designed with a tight bodice trimmed with ribbon bows, long sleeves and full skirt. A string of baby pearls was worn at the simple neck line. Her finger tip veil was fastened to a tiara head dress. She carried a shower bouquet of red roses and yellow and white snap dragons.

Miss Bernadine Gripentrog of Spencer, cousin of the bride, was the only attendant. She wore a pink frock with tight bodice, short sleeves and peplum of lace and a full net skirt. She wore a pink half-hat and carried a bouquet of white and yellow snap dragons and daisies, tied with pink and blue ribbons.

Robert Neuman, Spencer, and cousin of the bride, was best man.

Mrs. Miller wore a green suit with black accessories, and Mrs. Fenhouse wore a gray afternoon dress. Both mothers had corsages alike of red roses and daisies.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. Streamers of pink and white decorated the dining room and a wedding cake, decorated in pink, topped by doves with two wedding rings, formed the centerpiece on the bridal table.

In the evening a wedding dance was held at Spencer hall with Emil and His Band furnishing the music.

After a week, Mr. and Mrs. Fenhouse will be at home to friends in Spencer where both of them are employed at Dairy Belt. Mr. Fenhouse drives a truck and Mrs. Fenhouse is employed in the processing plant.

Among the guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. S. Nelson, daughters, Lois, Elaine and Geraldine, of Stevens Point; Mr. and Mrs. Charles Gripentrog, Mr. and Mrs. Darel Gripentrog and family, Mrs. Herman Newman, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Fenhouse and daughter, Isabelle, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Fenhouse, Miss Carol Favert, Mr. and Mrs. Harley Graves and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Baldwin, and Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Stapel, all of Spencer.
