Weisenberger, Arlene E. (6 June 1920 - 11 Apr. 2009)

TOPEKA, Kan. -- Arlene E. Weisenberger, 88, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009, in Topeka, Kan.

Arlene was born June 6, 1920, in Marshfield, the daughter of Bernard and Laura Eggebrecht Splitt.

She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in education from University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She taught in Abbotsford schools. She married Edwin Weisenberger on July 26, 1941.

Survivors include her son Kenneth (Diane) Weisenberger, Topeka; a daughter, Cheryl (Pat) Galvin, Henderson, Nev.; a son, Scott (Adrienne) Weisenberger, Chicago; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Harold Splitt. She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin and sister, Myrtle Weisenberger.

A private graveside service will take place in Abbotsford Public Cemetery in Abbotsford, Wis. The Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford is assisting the family with arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society.
