County surveyor Stockwell announces the appointment of S. F. Hewett of Neillsville and Edgar Ayer of the town of Unity as deputy surveyors.

Miss Agnes Burns and Clara Ames and Reuben Eicke, Geo. Zimmerman and Albert Schuette of Marshfield attended the Cotton Ball Friday night.

Mr. L. Lapp, the Granton livery man, has purchased the livery stable and business of J. W. Wicker at Marshfield and took charge of the same last week.

Frank Crocker and Marshall Pengre finished their work at Phillips and spent a couple days last week in this city. They returned to Madison Monday.

P. G. McKinney of Columbia was in the city Tuesday. He says that work on the salting station there is progressing and that several other good things are in the wind for Columbia.
