THORP -- Robert Strojny, 61, of Thorp, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church, in Thorp. Burial will follow in New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Thorp Funeral Home, and at the church on Monday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

THORP -- Robert J. Strojny, 71, of Thorp, died Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at his home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 4, 2009, at St. Bernard-St. Hedwig's Catholic Church in Thorp. Inurnment will follow in New St. Hedwig's Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Thorp Funeral home, with a 7 p.m. rosary service; and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.

Robert J. Strojny was born Nov. 29, 1947, in Stanley, to Joseph and Rose (Sawczuk) Strojny. Following his education, he worked at Blue Moon Cheese in Thorp from 1968 until 1980. He then rented a farm west of Thorp, until taking over the family farm in 1989. Robert farmed his family farm until the time of his death.

He is survived by two brothers, Richard (Cheryl) of Chippewa Falls and Edward (Kaye) of Thorp.

Thorp Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
