Hoeft, Merlin (3 Oct. 1923 - 19 Nov. 1946)

On Friday afternoon, the funeral services for Merlin Hoeft, 23, who died of a cerebral hemorrhage at Milwaukee, Nov. 19, where held at 1:30 at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Hoeft. The body was taken to Christ Evangelical Lutheran church where the Rev. F. H. Sprengler conducted the services at 2:00.

Mr. Juneau, of Dorchester, was organist and also sang two hymns, "Asleep in Jesus," and "The Lord is My Shepherd."

Burial was made in the Abbotsford cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Papenfuss, Richard Preller, Maurice Thompson, Myron Kramer, Melvin Nikolay and James Jordan.

The many beautiful flowers were carried by the Misses Ann Preller, Donna Hinke, Maurine Lieders, Alice Alexander, Dorothy Kieser, Betty Kuehnast, Bernadine Gust, Jean Neitzel, Ramona and Lavila Eggert.

Among the relatives and friends from away who attended the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hoeft and Marion Hoeft, Wausau; Miss Evelyn Hoeft, Miss Grace Vogt, Miss Helen Radulski, Mrs. Martha Whichochill, and Mr. and Mrs. Chester David, Milwaukee; Mrs. Leslie Prejont, Eagle River; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Gosh and Miss Linda Vogt, Rothschild; Mr. and Mrs. Ted Hoeft and sons, Willard and Howard; and Mrs. Dorothy Harley, Chippewa Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Hoeft, Milan; James Jordan, Wausau, Mrs. Ed Jolivette and son, Richard, Madison.
