Schmidt, Billy (19 Nov. 1935 - 22 Nov. 1946)

An Angel High Mass was sung for Billy Schmidt, 7, who died Friday morning at Madison, by the Rev. Francis Brockman, at St. Bernard’s Catholic church at 10:00 o’clock, Monday morning. Internment was made in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

The pallbearers were four uncles: W. G. Danielson, Abbotsford; Gregory Charlesworth, New Lisbon; Floyd Roth, Packwaukee, and Roland Roth, Colby, Wis.

Acting as flower girls were the Misses Mary Jane, Patricia, Carol and Mary Dolan, Anne Nikolay, Mary Shields, Suzanne Hartzell and Ann Janda.

Billy, son of Dr. and Mrs. E. J. Schmidt, was born Nov. 19, 1935, and spent his life in Abbotsford, Wis. He reached his seventh birthday, Tuesday, while a patient at Madison Orthopedic Hospital, where he was confined since Oct. 25, receiving treatment for poliomyelitis.

Billy attended the Abbotsford grade school and was in the second grade.

Besides his parents, he leaves a year old sister, Karen, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Roth, Colby; and paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Schmidt, of Marshfield.

Among relatives from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. George Schmidt, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. William Roth and Mr. and Mrs. Roland Roth, Colby; Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Roth, Packwaukee; Mr. and Mrs. Gregory Charlesworth, New London; Mrs. Ed Schmidt and children, Raymond and Phyllis, Menasha; Mrs. Nat Koller, Marshfield; Mr. and Mrs. Jack Coates and Mr. and Mrs. Otto Heintz, Cherokee; and Mrs. Emil Block, Wausau.
