Wilde, Emma (14 July 1879 - 18 Dec. 1946)

Mrs. William Wilde, 67, died Wednesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Fecker. The body is lying in state at the Zink Funeral home where a short service will be conducted at 1:30 Saturday afternoon. The body will then be taken to the Methodist church at Colby, where services will be held at 2:00 o’clock.

Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Wilde, who died Wednesday, were held Saturday afternoon at 1:30 at the Zink Funeral Home and at 2:00 o’clock at the Colby Methodist church. The Rev. M. B. Ferguson was the officiating minister. Internment followed in the Colby (Colby, Clark Co. Wis.) Cemetery.

The pallbearers were Wayne Davis, Malcolm Lamont, Virgil Frane, George Krepsky, Wallace Sossaman and Vernon Loos.

The ladies who had charge of the many floral offerings were life long friends of the deceased: Mrs. Robert Brotherton, Mrs. Angus Lamont, Sr., Mrs. Myrtle Reis, Mrs. William Berry, Miss Katherine Phillipi and Mrs. Wallace Sossaman.

Emma Mihlke was born in Fond du Lac, July 14, 1879. When she was almost a year old her parents moved to Abbotsford and cleared a farm west of town. They lived there for 12 years and then moved to Colby, Wis.

She was married to William Wilde at Colby, May 17, 1896. To them were born 11 children, three of whom preceded their parents in death.

After Mr. Wilde died, March 31, 1943, Mrs. Wilde spent her winters in Chicago. In April of 1945, she came to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. John Fecker.

Mrs. Wilde was a diabetic, had been in poor health for about a year and a half and was bed-ridden the past nine months. Death caused by diabetes and complications, came Wednesday morning, Dec. 18, at 10:15.

She leaves the following eight children: Mrs. John (Gladys) Fecker and Roy Wilde, Abbotsford; Mrs. Mable Pickett, Milwaukee; Mrs. John (Elizabeth) Carroll and William Wilde, Las Vegas, Nevada; Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Carroll, Chicago; Jame Wilde, Colby; and Mrs. Refugio (June) Garcia, of Johnson City, Texas.

There are 18 grand children and four great grand children. Two sisters, Mrs. Fred Riplinger of Riplinger, and Mrs. Laurence Johnson of Farmington, Wash.; and three brothers, Lawrence Mihlke, Rockford, Wash., Fred, of Spokane, and Herman of Plummer, Idaho, also survive. Her parents and two sisters and a brother preceded her in death.

Mes. Wilde was a member of the Colby Methodist church and Ladies’ Aid and a Royal Neighbor.

Among relatives from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Joe Carroll, Chicago, and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Riplinger, of Riplinger.
